Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 25, 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Carrel (the “Service”), operated by chetandhandal.com. Carrel is currently an invite-only product in a trial period. By requesting access, paying for founding access, or using Carrel, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Trial period & right to discontinue
Carrel is offered on a trial basis. We are still building the product, the monetization model is not finalised, and capacity is limited. We may, at our sole discretion and at any time, with or without prior notice:
- change, add or remove any feature of the Service;
- pause, suspend or permanently discontinue the Service in whole or in part;
- change pricing, plan structure or quotas; and
- refuse or revoke invitations.
Where reasonably possible, we will provide advance notice of significant changes or shutdown. If we permanently discontinue Carrel during a paid term, we will, on written request to chetan.dhanthala@outlook.com, refund the unused, pro-rata portion of any prepaid fee, except where otherwise required by law.
2. Eligibility & access
Carrel is invite-only and currently directed at users in India. You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to purchase founding access. Users aged 13 to 17 may use the Service only with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian. Accounts are personal and may not be shared, transferred or resold.
3. Accounts & security
You are responsible for activity that occurs on your account. Keep your phone number current and your one-time passwords confidential. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access at chetan.dhanthala@outlook.com.
4. Founding access & payment
Founding access is a six-month invite, currently priced at the amount shown on our pricing page. The fee is intended to cover the operating cost of running the Service during the trial period (compute, hosting, AI generation, SMS, payments). The fee is not a commitment to any specific product roadmap, uptime guarantee, or service level.
Founding access requests are reviewed and approved manually. You will share your name, phone number and the UPI/QR transaction reference for your payment with us; access is granted only after we verify the transaction. Approval typically takes up to 24 hours. If we cannot verify your transaction or choose not to grant access, we will refund the amount received.
Except as required by law, fees are non-refundable once access has been granted, other than the discontinuation refund described in Section 1.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Carrel for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent or abusive purposes;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape or interfere with the Service or its underlying infrastructure;
- upload content that infringes the rights of others;
- circumvent usage quotas, security measures or access controls; or
- share your account credentials with anyone else, including family and colleagues.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the subjects, topics and notes you create. By using Carrel, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process and display your content solely so that we can provide the Service to you. We never use your private content to train AI models, sell it to third parties or advertise to you.
7. AI-generated content & disclaimer
Carrel uses AI models to generate learning material. AI output may contain inaccuracies, omissions or biases. You are responsible for verifying any information you rely on. Carrel is intended for general self-directed learning. It is not a substitute for professional, legal, medical, financial, educational accreditation or other expert advice.
8. Service availability
We work to keep Carrel reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may change, and access may be temporarily suspended for maintenance, security or other operational reasons, without liability to you.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or for operational reasons including discontinuation of the Service. You may stop using Carrel at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, warranties, disclaimers and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy or uninterrupted operation.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Carrel and chetandhandal.com (including its operator, employees and contractors) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid to us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) ₹1,000. Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Carrel and chetandhandal.com from any third-party claims, damages or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to applicable mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence, the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. If you reside in the European Union, the United Kingdom or the United States, nothing in this Section limits any non-waivable rights you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction.
14. Users in the United States
If you access Carrel from the United States, you acknowledge that the Service is provided from outside the U.S., that it has not been evaluated by any U.S. regulator, and that the AI-generated content is general informational material only. You agree to comply with all applicable U.S. federal, state and local laws. To the extent permitted by law, you and we agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in a class action.
15. Export & sanctions
You may not access or use the Service if you are located in, or are a national or resident of, any country subject to comprehensive sanctions by the Government of India, the United States, the United Kingdom or the European Union, or if you are on any restricted-party list maintained by those governments.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via the contact details on your account. Continued use of Carrel after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
